About the Promoter – Kr. Bhumendrapal Singh
Kr. Bhumendrapal Singh received his early education from The Daly College, Indore, one of India’s premier boarding schools. He later pursued a Master of Commerce degree from St. John’s College, Agra, an institution affiliated with St. Stephen’s College, New Delhi.
Driven by a passion for culture and enterprise, he began his professional journey as a partner at “Wildcraft,” a venture dedicated to helping local artisans in and around Awagarh reach international markets. This initiative promotes Indian craftsmanship using animal motif designs in various creative forms.
Legacy of the Awagarh Family
The Awagarh royal family has made remarkable contributions to education, art, and craftsmanship. Inspired by the ideals of Rabindranath Tagore, the family actively supported his vision for Shantiniketan.
Among their most influential members, Raja Balwant Singh Ji, the great-great-grandfather of Bhumendrapal Singh, played a historic role. In 1885, he established Raja Balwant Singh College in Agra, an institution that remains a symbol of academic excellence. Over the decades, the college gained national prominence and was even praised by Dwight D. Eisenhower, the first U.S. President to visit India.
