Madhavi Raje Scindia(rajmata), mother of Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia and queen mother of the Gwalior royal family, has passed away. He was undergoing treatment at AIIMS, Delhi for the last two months. She breathed her last at 9.28 am today at AIIMS, Delhi.

In 1966, Madhavi married Maharaja Madhavrao Scindia of Gwalior. This union solidified her role within the influential Scindia family, where she became a strong and supportive figure.

Madhavi was a constant source of support for her children, especially her son, Jyotiraditya Scindia. She provided unwavering encouragement throughout his political career. At the age of 70, Madhavi passed away, leaving behind a rich legacy. Her strength, wisdom, and support for her family, particularly her son, will continue to be cherished and remembered by all who knew her.

Madhavi’s husband and Jyotiraditya Scindia’s father Madhavrao Scindia died on 30 September 2001. During this period, there were reports of Madhavi joining active politics, but Madhavi kept herself away from politics.
