Certainly! While detailed records of orchid owned by Indian royals remain limited, several royal families actively cultivated and appreciated these elegant flowers in their palace gardens. Here are some notable examples:

 Orchids in Indian Royal Gardens

1. Mysore Palace Orchids
The Wadiyar family of Mysore maintained a strong tradition of horticulture. Their royal gardens, including those at Lalitha Mahal Palace, featured various exotic plants such as orchid. Although specific species aren’t widely documented, the diversity of flora in these gardens highlights the royal family’s passion for botany.

2. Udaipur Royal Orchids
In the Mewar region, the Maharanas of Udaipur cultivated rare orchid at sites like the Lake Palace. Their commitment to beautifying royal properties with exquisite flora reflects their refined aesthetic and respect for nature.

3. Khonghampat Orchidarium, Manipur
Though not linked to a royal lineage, the Khonghampat Orchidarium in Imphal deserves mention for its national importance. Established in 1976 by the Manipur Forest Department, this orchidarium nurtures over 500 orchid species, including rare varieties such as Vanda coerulea and Dendrobium wardianum.

 Orchids and Conservation Efforts

In recent years, environmentalists in Kerala launched orchid rescue initiatives to protect native species. When infrastructure projects threatened orchid-bearing trees, conservationists relocated nearly 18,000 orchid to Sarovaram Biopark for preservation. Their efforts highlight a growing commitment to orchid conservation.

 Orchids in Indian Gardens

  • Colourful Orchids from India: The Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew, London, hosted a stunning orchid display celebrating India’s rich botanical heritage.

  • Phalaenopsis Orchids at Peradeniya: These tropical orchid, admired for their striking petals, often flourish in gardens across southern India.

  • Royal Orchid Brindavan Garden Palace: Nestled in Mysore, this heritage hotel offers a regal experience amid blooming gardens and tranquil surroundings.
These examples reveal how Indian royals and modern caretakers continue to cherish the delicate beauty of orchids—as symbols of luxury, heritage, and ecological awareness.
